G is for Greetings

The First Letter
Rein's challenge at Daring Cardmakers is to create a card that contains elements starting with the initial of our name. My card has "Greetings" which starts with G. The painted background was made with gesso - another "G". Stamps by Artifacts. Letters by Making Memories.

Distressed gesso backgrounds

Saturday's Workout introduced me to a new technique today, creating distressed gesso backgrounds. There is an excellent tutorial here.

I created a card for a trendy teenager whose 18th birthday is approaching. Orange card was sponged with gesso and dried, then various ink pads were applied, followed by some more gesso. The stamps are by Artistic Stamper, Artifacts and Stampington. Metal key by Maya Road and felt by Fancy Pants. Background paper & letters from Colorbok.

I enjoyed the technique so much I made several different backgrounds. More to come.
