Lots to Do: Favourite Technique

The Lots To Do Challenge asks today for an example of our favourite technique. I have several, among them creating gesso backgrounds; using alcohol inks and collage.

But I am always stamping, so I suppose that must be my favourite!

This card uses the stamp "Sophia" and I overlaid her with vellum that had been embossed by the Cuttlebug (another favourite!).

Halloween

Halloween is the challenge at Daring Cardmakers and Lots to Do. My card is a more cheerful take on Halloween than the usual cheerful theme, but with such a happy pumpkin, I had no choice :-)

Pumpkin stamp: Hero Arts; Shrink Art; ribbon - Doodlebug

Fairies

Lots do Do: fairies or angels. This is a good economy card! Background washed with watercolours. Fairy ticket stamp was free with Craft Stamper and the flower fairy was also free with a magazine. I added some Stickles glitter, feathers and dried flowers.

Lots to do: Friendship

Here's my entry for the Friendship challenge at Lots to Do.  The photo shows my mum on the right and her friend Maureen when they were 18, posing on Plymouth Hoe. Mum's two-piece was knitted and became so heavy in the water, the first and only time she wore it, that she had to be dragged out.

I made some colourful fish with glass paints on acetate and used stamps by Cavallini.

Green & black - and red

Intriguing challenge at Lots to Do. Choose your favourite Green & Black's chocolate bar, and create a card that is green, black and whichever colour your favourite bar is.

My favourite is cherry, so here is my green, black and red card.

Lots To Do: Free Theme

There's a free theme over at Lots to Do, so I'm sharing a card I made recently for a friend's wedding.
The glitter letters are by American Crafts. The flowers - Hero Arts Peakin Posies stamps - were painted with Twinkling H2Os and sprinkled with glitter. Background paper by Stampington.

Embossing

Lots To Do is looking for embossing on cards: heat embossing, embossing using a Cuttlebug or traditional embossing with a light box.

I tried a light box a while ago but somehow couldn't make it work. I then had one of those Fiskars templates where you use a tool to score round the shapes, but it's very hard on the hands!

Then I discovered the joys of the Cuttlebug. For the snowman card I used two folders and also heat embossed using the latest free stamp from Craft Stamper.

The reindeer card uses a stamp by Woodware and I glued on bits of silver "leaf" and made the reindeer sparkle with Stickles. In the background I embossed with the Cuttlebug Christmas ornaments folder.

Paris

The Lots to Do Challenge with its theme of "Going to Paris" gave me a great opportunity to try out my new Paris stamps by Elusive Images.

The eyes have it

Lots To Do challenge this week is "the eyes have it."

Flicking through the latest Somerset Studio, the free artists' papers included some images with the theme eyes. Perfect! I added some Stampington stamped scrolls and some dimensional paint and glitter. Paper is Recess / Basic Grey.

Wings

Here are my wings for the Lots to Do challenge.

I created the background with a Cuttlebug embossing folder, chalked it and then sprayed with Glimmer Mists and sprinkled with glitter. The script and dragonfly stamps are from the SSP Guild, and the large butterfly, stamped on acetate and adorned with Stickles, was free with Crafts Beautiful. Finally two shrink plastic tiles were smudged with inks and stamped with the dragonfly.
