Stop the Pigeon

After a meeting in London this morning, which involved having to face the underground system (harumph!), getting lost in the back streets of W1 while wearing high heels (ouch) and feeling generally low of energy owing to 1200 calorie diet, I was thrilled to find two parcels waiting for me at home.

The first was the Sizzix Sidekick, which was a free gift (yes, FREE GIFT!) for subscribing to Papercraft Essentials. I was a little disappointed at first because I'd thought it was the machine that laminates, but I don't think it is. I have a lot of restaurant cards, tickets and so on from Cyprus that I wanted to laminate and use in a LO. Ah well, I will now have to get the machine that laminates!

The other parcel was a big pizza box full of yummy stash from PaperArts: several sheets of Fancy Pants Key Lime and Floral Chic papers; Key Lime ribbon; Fancy Pants Truly, Madly Deeply rub-ons, and various Bazzill colours. The Bazzill Bling is a bit disappointing. I was expecting a bit more va-va-voom or sparkle.

I also had a Jiffybag from Papermaze which contained a Making Memories Heidi alphabet, my second one, and three felt birds by Jenni Bowlin. I love those alphabet rub-ons: they're so useful for cards (particularly as my handwriting is a disgrace). The felt birds are for a LO that's in my mind's eye: "Catch the Pigeon." If you're old enough to remember Dastardly and Muttley's Flying Machines you will remember the ridiculous plot about capturing a pigeon, and the tune "stop the pigeon".

Anyway, there are two plumptious pigeons that visit the garden each day. They peck about beneath the seed feeders, picking up seeds that the smaller birds have dropped. I think the pigeons are making a nest because one of them keeps flying off with twigs in its beak. I want to set up the camera and remote control device so I can photograph said pigeons when they're plodding about. That's if my cat doesn't get to them first. She had only been back from the cattery 30 minutes and she caught a sparrow.

So am now in better spirits, stroking my stash and wondering how to deploy my lovely Key Lime designs in a LO this weekend!
